“Build a cultural bonfire”.
Morgan Casemore
Late last year we both got embarrassingly engrossed in reading a book called “Unreasonable Hospitality”.
A quote in chapter 8 caught our eye - “That a single hire and the spark of enthusiasm that comes with that new team member, can be easily extinguished”. Instead taking longer to find two great people, helps the individual sparks of enthusiasm catch on, igniting a steady fire that is much harder to go out.
(Yes the rest of the book is that unashamedly cringe).
With Both Amy and Morgan starting their hairdressing journey together, they bridge the gap between Carolina and now Rupa, who has recently joined the team. The Class of 24’.
Hailing from the small village of Moynalty in Ireland, hairdressing runs in Morgan’s Blood.
Her Nan was a hairdresser herself, and would take a young Morgan in with her to help.
Fast forward a few years later, and at the age of 16 Morgan came back to England, eventually going on to Study Film Production at Bournemouth University. She still has a love for films, with her favourite being “It’s such a beautiful day” by Don Hertzfeldt.
Similar to Anna, Frankie, Cort, Laurence, Amy and now Rupa - Morgan actually was a client before applying for the apprenticeship position with us last year.
Already a dab hand at blowdrying, Morgan is learning the ropes ridiculously quickly. Japanese hairstylists and the clean technical aesthetics they bring to hairdressing, is big inspiration for Morgan.
Maybe those early years at her nans shop were impressionable.
One thing is for sure… she may not have an Irish accent, but with her dry sense of humour she will certainly bring the craic!
