We believe the concept of bigger and more is dated. A space with just a chair, a mirror and a pair of scissors - all complimented by beautiful natural light.

For us it is about the person in front of us, and the hair to be cut.

We like to think that a brilliant haircut is not too dissimilar to painting or art. You really have to feel and get your hands in the hair.

In recent times, so often hair is over styled in the salon, and an unrealistic expectation to recreate that - is put on you. We can't imagine many working women, busy mums or stressed students having more than 5 minutes to spend on their hair, let alone the luxury of an entire 40 minutes to perfectly blow-dry or style it every morning.

We believe a great cut should look alluring when rough dried, air dried with a little product, scrunched in or tied up with some romantic tendrils falling out framing your face. There is time and a place for a blow-dry, of course there is, but you should be just as confident in wearing your hair naturally as styled. It is a cliché to say that less is more but with a great hair cut it often is.

On the principle that a good haircut “evolves” over time, we build our belief that every one of our clients should enjoy the different phases and lengths their hair goes through.

It is the personal journey your haircut takes you on, all the little movements, the subtle flicks and the gentle bends you discover between the moment we place our scissors down to the side, until the next time our comb is picked up again.

We want you to love your hair at home as much as you do in the salon.

Why Sydney Street?

Vivienne Westwood's first shop. Mary Quant's earliest snips to the hem of the original mini skirts. Mods, Punks and New Romantics. It's safe to say the Kings Road area has seen its fair share of both great hair and iconic brands cutting their teeth so to speak.

Sydney Street is tucked just off down the side. You get a sense of both it is rebellious past where it was one of the most fashionable places to be, yet an unassuming charm and quietness of today.

Hopefully a bit like our ethos.
